What You’ll Do
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting a variety of safety and health initiatives and projects which include developing, coordinating, and performing safety training for the organization, providing support for program and policy development, and ensuring regulatory and organizational standards are being met. Additionally, this position requires a thorough understanding of EHS principles to support EHS initiatives, KPIs and metrics, and incident investigation and root cause analysis.
The Safety Coordinator reports to the Director, Manufacturing
Responsibilities
Provide support for policy and program development and implementation to continue standardization of safety program
Guide and assist operations personnel in regulatory compliance, incident investigation and analysis, along with the development and implementation of corrective actions
Create opportunities for individual and small group training (virtually) to drive engagement and culture
Actively participate in local site safety culture by attending safety meetings, promoting, and supporting safety initiatives
Have a thorough understanding of EHS principles in order to monitor, analyze, interpret, and report safety related KPIs and metrics
Continue to mentor and develop competencies in your teams that lead to improved performance in their current role and/or future roles
Qualifications
4-year degree or 2-year degree in a safety related (EHS) field from an accredited college or university, previous internship experience recommended.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
Ability to set priorities and execute problem solving skills
Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office tools
Adherence to organization's security and confidentiality policies
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Previous EHS experience is a plus

In adherence to the principle of pay transparency, we are pleased to disclose the base pay for this full-time position at Metrie. The base pay range for this role is set at 53,000 66,000 It is important to note that this position may also qualify for discretionary bonuses or commission payments. The specific base pay within the range will be contingent upon an individual's skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. Furthermore, it is essential to highlight that our remuneration ranges are established based on the role, level, and location.
