Schedule: Monday - Thursday
Days: 6:30 am - 4:00 pm
Nights: 4:00pm - 3:30 am
About the Role
Express Employment Guelph is currently recruiting for a Steel Fitter for a local and very well-established manufacturer.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage large custom projects with minimal supervision
- Interpret drawings, blueprints, welding symbols and structural specifications to fabricate custom components and structures
- Fabricate parts using layout and fitting techniques without the use of jigs or fixtures
- Perform SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and air carbon arc gouging
- Operate and maintain standard fabrication tools and machinery safely and efficently
- Ensure all work meets expected standards and follow all workplace health and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of fitting experience
- Advanced-level fitter with strong technical expertise
- Strong knowledge of standard welding concepts, practices and procedures
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience working safely with fabrication equipment and machinery
- Certification as a forklift and/or crane operator is considered an asset
