About Bloom Academy
Bloom Academy is a growing online learning community offering engaging tutoring and enrichment classes for kids and teens. We partner with passionate, specialized instructors who help students build confidence, sharpen creative and technical skills, and develop genuine curiosity in a warm, supportive environment.
Our teachers are the heart of what we do — and we're looking for the next great one to join us.
The Opportunity
We're hiring an engaging Musical Theatre Instructor to work with kids and teens on the craft of performance. This role is about the stage — helping young performers bring a song to life, build a character, tell a story, and step into an audition room with confidence.
We're looking for an instructor who can meet students wherever they are — whether that's a shy first-timer working up the nerve to perform, a teen preparing for their first audition, or a student with theatre experience who wants to sharpen their acting through song.
What You'll Do
- Teach live, interactive online musical theatre sessions for kids and teens
- Coach students on acting through song — intention, storytelling, character, and emotional truth
- Work through musical theatre repertoire and help students build a song book suited to their age, range, and type
- Prepare students for auditions: song selection, cuts, slating, sides, and callback readiness
- Develop performance and stagecraft skills, including presence, physicality, and performing effectively on camera
- Build students' confidence in front of an audience and help them manage performance nerves
- Explore the world of musical theatre — shows, styles, eras, and what makes a piece work dramatically
- Teach one-on-one lessons
- Create a positive, structured, and encouraging virtual classroom
- Adapt sessions to each student's experience level, goals, and interests
- Provide thoughtful feedback that helps students build confidence, skill, and artistic identity
What We're Looking For
- Strong background in musical theatre — performing, directing, and/or coaching
- Familiarity with musical theatre repertoire across shows, styles, and eras, and the judgment to match material to a young performer
- Experience with audition preparation and coaching
- A grounding in acting technique and the ability to teach storytelling and character work through song
- Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, or mentoring children and/or teens
- Confident and engaging on camera, with a sense of how performance translates to a screen
- Clear, warm communicator
- Reliable, organized, and professional
- Comfortable working with beginners who may be nervous about performing
- A relevant degree or conservatory training in musical theatre, theatre, performance, or a related field is a plus
- Experience creating project-based lessons or curriculum is a plus
