About Our Client
Our client is a well-established and respected manufacturer within the hollow metal and commercial door industry. As the company continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced and analytical Production Scheduler to support production planning, inventory management, reporting, and cross-functional coordination to ensure efficient plant operations and on-time delivery.
Position Title: Production Scheduler
Reports To: Operations / Plant Leadership Team
Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop, maintain, and oversee daily production schedules to align with customer demand, inventory targets, material availability, and production capacity.
- Review production schedules, priorities, and system data to ensure accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Monitor production flow and schedule attainment to identify risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate scheduling activities across production, inventory, warehouse, customer service, sales, and leadership teams.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts, material shortages, and priority changes in a timely manner.
- Support production continuity by reviewing and coordinating packaging supplies, finished goods accessories, and sub-assembly requirements.
Reporting & Data Analysis
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute recurring and ad hoc reports related to production, inventory, service levels, and operational performance.
- Provide leadership with accurate data and insights to support decision-making.
- Develop and improve reporting tools, dashboards, forecasting models, and production metrics.
- Monitor key performance indicators and identify trends affecting production efficiency.
Inventory Management
- Support inventory control activities including cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
- Maintain inventory records and planning-related system data.
- Assist with inventory item setup and ongoing maintenance within ERP systems.
- Ensure inventory levels support production requirements while minimizing excess stock.
Process Improvement & Coordination
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to scheduling, planning, and reporting processes.
- Partner with plant leadership to improve schedule visibility and planning effectiveness.
- Assist in establishing best practices and maintaining system discipline across planning functions.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to scheduling personnel as required.
- Assist with training and onboarding of scheduling team members.
Health & Safety
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and workplace regulations.
- Promote a safe working environment while supporting plant operations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in production scheduling, production planning, or inventory control within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing setting with a large number of SKUs.
- Previous experience in a senior, lead, or high-level scheduling role is considered an asset.
- Experience supporting inventory management and production reporting functions.
Technical Skills
- Strong ERP/MRP system experience required.
- Syspro experience is strongly preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Experience creating, maintaining, and improving reports, dashboards, and planning tools.
- Strong understanding of production flow, material coordination, and inventory management principles.

Work Environment
- Combination of office and manufacturing plant environment.
- Regular interaction with production and warehouse teams.
