421A Heavy Equipment Technician

Are you a licensed 421A Heavy Equipment Technician looking for a role that offers a mix of shop and field service work?
Our client is a well-established leader supporting major infrastructure, energy, construction, and industrial projects across Canada. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to their team.
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with excellent compensation, outstanding benefits, and significant overtime potential.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Complete repairs both in the shop and in the field using a company service truck.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns at project sites across Ontario and Eastern Canada.
- Complete work orders, inspections, and maintenance documentation.
- Assist with larger repairs and equipment overhauls as required.
- Support apprentices and contribute to a safe, team-oriented work environment.

Compensation & Benefits
- $46.50/hour, plus annual wage increases.
- Overtime paid after 44 hours per week, with significant overtime available.

Qualifications
- Licensed 421A Heavy Equipment Technician.
- Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment repair experience.
- Strong hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical diagnostic skills.
- Comfortable travelling throughout Ontario and Eastern Canada.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving abstract.
- Air Brake (Z) endorsement, or willingness to obtain one.
- Experience with electronic logbooks is an asset.
- Stick welding experience is considered an asset.
Schedule
- 14 days on / 7 days off
- Shop work typically consists of 8-hour days starting between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
- Field assignments typically involve 10–12-hour days.
- Must be available to travel on short notice when required.
