Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Concrete Finisher to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete finishing, masonry, and related trades, with the ability to work efficiently on various projects including restoration, renovation, and new construction. This role requires hands-on expertise in using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment to deliver high-quality concrete surfaces and finishes. Candidates should possess mechanical knowledge and be comfortable reading blueprints and schematics to ensure precise execution of tasks.
Responsibilities
- Finish concrete surfaces by smoothing, leveling, and shaping freshly poured concrete using hand tools and power tools
- Install rebar and formwork according to blueprints and schematics for structural integrity
- Operate heavy equipment safely for tasks such as lifting, moving materials, or preparing sites
- Apply caulking, sealing, and other restoration techniques to ensure durability of finished surfaces
- Perform masonry work including laying bricks or blocks as needed for project specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to execute projects accurately
- Coordinate with carpenters, welders, and other trades to ensure seamless project progression
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to OSHA regulations and using proper personal protective equipment
- Assist in flooring installation and other renovation tasks related to concrete work as required
- Conduct site cleanup and prepare work areas for subsequent phases of construction or finishing
Experience
- Proven experience in concrete finishing, masonry, or related construction trades
- Mechanical knowledge of tools, machinery, and heavy equipment operation
- Skilled in rebar installation, concrete forming, carpentry, welding, and flooring installation
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and renovation processes
- Experience with restoration projects or working on large-scale commercial or residential sites is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods
- Knowledge of caulking techniques and the use of hand tools such as trowels, floats, mixers, and power tools
