Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented General Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in CNC programming, and experience with various machining processes. This role involves operating and maintaining CNC lathes and milling machines, reading blueprints, and utilizing hand tools to produce precise components. Candidates should have a solid understanding of manufacturing principles and safety standards to ensure high-quality output and efficient workflow.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machinery including CNC lathe and CNC milling machines, ensuring accurate production according to specifications.
- Program CNC machines using Fanuc controls and interpret G-code for precise machining operations.
- Read and interpret technical blueprints, CAD models, and SolidWorks drawings to produce parts that meet design requirements.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Set up and adjust machines, perform changeovers, and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other machining tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist with assembly, welding, or other manufacturing tasks as needed within the production process.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and waste reduction opportunities.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Machinist in manufacturing with hands-on experience operating CNC equipment.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls, CNC programming, blueprint reading, CAD software (SolidWorks), and basic math skills for precise measurements.
- Knowledge of machining processes including turning, milling, welding, and assembly techniques.
- Experience with calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment is required.
- Prior exposure to lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards.
- Experience with HURCO Milling/Turning centers an asset but willing to train.
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
