Overview
We are seeking a Part-Time Clinic & OR Nurse who is fluent in both English and Farsi to join our specialized oculoplastic surgery practice. This role is ideal for a compassionate, organized, and highly skilled nurse who thrives in both clinical and surgical settings and is comfortable supporting both patient care and administrative operations.
At Toronto Eyelid Surgery, we specialize exclusively in cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid surgery, serving patients across Canada and internationally. Our team is committed to delivering exceptional outcomes with a personalized, high-touch patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist the surgeon during in-office procedures and operating room cases
- Prepare surgical instruments, maintain sterile technique, and ensure OR readiness
- Perform patient assessments, vital signs, and pre-operative preparation
- Provide post-operative care, education, and follow-up support
- Assist with patient flow in clinic, including rooming and preparing patients for consultation and treatment
- Support clinical procedures including injectables, laser treatments, and minor procedures as needed
- Maintain accurate patient charts, medical documentation, and treatment records
- Assist with administrative tasks including answering phones, booking appointments, responding to patient inquiries, and coordinating follow-ups
- Help manage surgical scheduling, patient paperwork, and consent forms
- Ensure treatment rooms and surgical areas are clean, stocked, and compliant with safety standards
- Communicate effectively with Farsi-speaking patients and families, helping to facilitate comfort and understanding
- Support overall clinic operations and provide exceptional patient care throughout the surgical journey
Qualifications
- Valid nursing RN or RPN license with current registration; prior hospital or surgical center experience preferred
- Fluency in both English and Farsi is required
- Experience working with electronic health records systems such as OSCAR is preferred
- Operating room experience preferred
- Experience in plastic surgery, ophthalmology, or aesthetics is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of sterile technique and patient safety
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively
- Professional, polished, and compassionate bedside manner
