Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team, MUST BE ITALIAN SPEAKING for a LIVE-IN position. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals, particularly seniors and those with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, effective communication skills, and the ability to handle various caregiving tasks in a respectful and professional manner.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor patients for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Assist with mobility and heavy lifting as needed to ensure patient safety.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Support individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments through engaging activities and companionship.
- Document patient progress and report any concerns to healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with family members and other caregivers to create effective care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Uphold medical terminology standards when communicating patient information.
Experience
- Previous experience in patient care or caregiving is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with senior care practices, dementia care, and working with persons with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology will be beneficial in understanding patient needs and communicating effectively with healthcare teams.
- A strong ability to perform physical tasks related to caregiving, including heavy lifting when necessary.
