Overview
This is a one day gig (Must be availble July 26th) With an option to come back later on! We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Referee to officiate games and ensure fair play in accordance with established rules and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the sport, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and maintain a high level of professionalism on and off the field. This role is crucial in promoting sportsmanship and ensuring a safe environment for all participants. Selected candidates will go through a short Zoom meeting where we’ll explain exactly how we want the games officiated. We will be using NBA rules only.
Duties
- Officiate games by enforcing rules and regulations to ensure fair play.
- Make quick decisions regarding fouls, penalties, and other game-related situations.
- Communicate effectively with players, coaches, and spectators to maintain order during games.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the sport's rules and any updates or changes.
- Collaborate with other officials to ensure consistency in officiating standards.
- Manage game time, including starting and stopping play as necessary.
- Provide feedback to players and coaches regarding gameplay and sportsmanship.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of the sport being officiated, including rules and regulations.
- Previous experience as a referee or official is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey decisions clearly and assertively.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations professionally.
- Strong observational skills to accurately assess gameplay and player conduct.
- Physical fitness to keep up with the pace of play during games.
- Certification or training in officiating is a plus but not required. We encourage individuals who are passionate about sports and committed to promoting fair play to apply for this exciting opportunity as a Referee.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
