Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator specializing in Plumbing, HVAC and or Refrigeration systems to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing detailed estimates, and collaborating closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure competitive pricing and successful project execution. Your expertise will help drive profitable projects by providing precise cost analysis, fostering strong negotiations, and supporting overall construction management efforts. Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive plumbing and HVAC estimates.
- Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents thoroughly to determine scope of work and material requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams to establish accurate pricing strategies that align with project budgets and client expectations.
- Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground information, assess site conditions, and verify quantities for precise estimation.
- Engage in negotiations with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Prepare detailed bid proposals that clearly outline scope, costs, schedules, and assumptions for client review.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to support cost control initiatives and ensure profitability.
- Assist in contract review and management to ensure compliance with project specifications and legal requirements.
- Support project management teams by providing reliable cost forecasts, risk assessments, and value engineering suggestions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on plumbing and HVAC systems within commercial or industrial projects.
- 5 Years in the Plumbing and HVAC trade.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, site management practices, and contract administration.
- Proficiency in Acrobat software for digital plan review and markup; experience with Excel is highly desirable.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors and subcontractors.
- Solid understanding of cost control techniques, pricing strategies, and budget management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents accurately.
- Construction site experience is preferred to better understand field conditions impacting estimates.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with diverse teams including project managers, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Relevant certifications or training in construction estimating or management are a plus.
