Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Journeyman Machinist to join our team. The successful candidate will be mechanically inclined, have a strong work ethic, and be motivated to continue developing their machining skills in a fast-paced shop environment. The hours for night shift are Monday through Thursday from 4pm - 2:30 am.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Assist with CNC programming and perform basic program edits and adjustments as required.
- Operate both CNC lathes and milling machines, with preference for experience in both disciplines.
- Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify product quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Operate manual and CNC machining equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, tooling changes, and daily housekeeping activities.
- Maintain compliance with quality standards, production schedules, and workplace safety requirements.
- Identify and report manufacturing issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve production and quality objectives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Registered Machinist
- Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving abilities
- Intermediate experience reading and interpreting drawings
- Introductory CNC programming skills or willingness to expand skills
- Good communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- Proactive, reliable, and self-motivated
