Sage Hayward Vineyards and the Feral Goat Bistro are looking for Line Cooks to join our culinary team for the 2026 season. This role is ideal for cooks who take pride in their craft, enjoy teamwork, and want to grow their skills in a destination winery restaurant.
The Role
As a Line Cook, you’ll be a key part of our kitchen team, supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in delivering a consistent, high-quality West Coast inspired menu. You’ll work across stations during service, assist with prep, and help maintain an efficient, clean, and well-organized kitchen.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have valid Working Holiday visa
- 1–3 years’ experience in a professional kitchen
- Culinary certificate or formal training an asset, but not required
- BC Food Safe Level 1 (required)
- Experience in winery restaurants, bistros, or high-volume kitchens an asset
- Interest or experience in wood-fired cooking and pizza a plus
- Comfortable working in a seasonal, semi-remote environment
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute menu items according to recipes and standards
- Assist with mise en place, prep, and station setup for service
- Work efficiently during service while maintaining quality and consistency
- Support wood-fired and pizza station operations as required
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and Island Health (VIHA) guidelines at all times
- Assist with proper food storage, labelling, and rotation
- Communicate clearly with chefs and fellow cooks during service
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented kitchen culture

Compensation
$21-24/hr. depending on experience
4% vacation pay, paid out bi-weekly
