Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Sushi Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional Japanese cuisine. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive knowledge of sushi preparation, and a passion for food safety and quality. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the sushi kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality food production
- Oversee all aspects of sushi preparation, including cutting, rolling, and presentation techniques
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards and proper handling of ingredients at all times
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen
- Develop new sushi recipes and menu items to keep offerings innovative and appealing
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and service standards
- Collaborate with restaurant management to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction
- Maintain a professional kitchen environment that emphasizes teamwork, hospitality, and excellence in food service
Experience
- Supervising experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality setting, preferably within the food industry or Japanese cuisine specialty kitchens
- Proven expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling specific to sushi and Japanese dishes
- Strong background in restaurant management or team management roles with demonstrated leadership skills
- Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen operations
- Previous restaurant experience with a focus on hospitality, serving guests with professionalism and attentiveness
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment used in sushi preparation and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
