Job Purpose:
The Lighthouse Church Kitchener-Waterloo (LHCKW) is a growing church in Waterloo committed to fostering an environment where people can experience and grow in their relationship with Jesus. We are hosting a Kids Summer Day Camp in July, and we are seeking a passionate, creative, and musically gifted individual to serve as our Worship & Creative Arts Coordinator for the summer.
Reporting directly to the Lead Pastor, the Worship and Creative Arts Director will support both Sunday worship experiences and contribute creatively to our Kids Summer Day Camp. The ideal candidate carries a heart for worship, understands how to create meaningful environments, and is able to engage both adults and children through music and creative expression.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Serve as a musician (keyboardist) on the worship team for Sunday morning services
Support the planning and execution of worship sets in collaboration with the Lead Pastor and team
Help create a meaningful and engaging worship environment that leads people into the presence of God
Participate in rehearsals and contribute to the overall excellence of the worship experience
Lead or support worship moments during Kids Summer Day Camp, helping create fun, engaging, and age-appropriate experiences
Incorporate creative elements into camp programming (music, movement, creative expression)
Collaborate with the camp team to align creative elements with daily themes and programming
Support audio/visual elements related to worship and creative programming where needed
Bring creative ideas to enhance both Sunday services and camp experiences
Maintain a high level of preparation and reliability for all assigned responsibilities
Support church events and creative initiatives as needed
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Availability to work Sunday mornings
Musical ability (keyboard preferred)
Experience leading worship in a church setting
Strong sense of rhythm, musicality, and awareness of worship flow
Creative mindset with the ability to engage different age groups
Confidence in leading or supporting group environments
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Dependable, prepared, and able to take initiative
Ability to function in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Alignment with the values and mission of Lighthouse Church Kitchener-Waterloo
Must meet Canada Summer Jobs eligibility requirements:
Be between the ages of 15–30 at the start of employment
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection status
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position is for the month of June and July, with the possibility of extending to part time hours in August
May require occasional evening hours
