Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Fabrication Supervisor, while demonstrating a commitment to quality, efficiency and accuracy, the Fabricator is responsible for general labour tasks such as detailing parts, by grinding, deburring, cleaning parts or completing the final assembly of parts products.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret work orders.
- Operate metal production equipment including hand tools, power tools, cobots, robots, orbital weld equipment, T-drill equipment, CNC and automated equipment.
- Use and monitor mix levels of immersive passivation tanks.
- Clean work areas and equipment.
- Assemble products.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Working Relationships
- Identifies and reports all quality issues, defects and non-conformance to area Lead hand or Fabrication Supervisor & Q.A.
- Discuss productivity issues with Fabrication Supervisor and or Lead hand.
- Collaborates with fellow co-workers and other departments.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Metal Fabrication an asset.
- General understanding of welding preferably automated and tube welding.
- Equipment troubleshooting.
- Ability to learn and operate fabrication equipment including hand tools, power tools, cobots, robots, orbital weld equipment, T-drill equipment, CNC and automated equipment.
- Familiarity with jigs and fixtures. Designing and building fixtures would be considered an asset.
- Solid understanding of production schedules and on time delivery.
- Ability to use measurement tools in order to meet product quality tolerance requirements.
- Blueprint reading.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Clear communication skills (understanding written and verbal cues).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to comply with company rules and regulations.
- Able to work independently.

Education and Experience
- Successful completion of Grade 12.
- Previous fabrication experience in a manufacturing setting is an asset.
- T-drill operation and tube and orbital welding considered an asset.
- Experience using ERP systems.
- Know and understand the WHMIS labelling system.
