Position – Project Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Manage customer projects from initial inquiry through final completion, ensuring scope, schedule, quality, and budget expectations are met.
- Review customer enquiries, specifications, drawings, bid qualifications, commercial terms, and delivery requirements to establish a full understanding of each project.
- Develop detailed scopes of work and communicate project requirements clearly to production, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and process complete plant job files including approved-for-construction drawings, customer specifications, Material From Stock Forms, Material Source Forms, traveler sheets, MQCP documentation, and related project records.
- Act as the primary liaison between customers and production personnel to maintain project clarity, resolve issues, and support on-time execution.
- Track project schedules and expedite work as required, advising customers promptly if timelines are at risk.
- Provide technical support to customers and develop practical, cost-effective solutions that align with project requirements and budgets.
- Attend customer sites or host customers in the plant to field measure, assess jobs, clarify requirements, and support execution planning.
- · Follow projects through completion including as-built documentation, invoice preparation support, internal paperwork routing, and project closeout.
- Additional Duties:
- · Build and maintain strong professional relationships with new and existing customers.
- · Support the Plant Manager with tooling, jigs, fixtures, process improvements, and implementation ideas that improve execution.
- · Oversee required detailed drawings to ensure they are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- · Maintain effective document control throughout the life of each project.
- · Identify, implement, and communicate cost-saving opportunities on each project.
- · Support effective utilization of fabrication personnel, materials, and facilities while maximizing profitability.
- · Ensure customer requirements and specifications are fully satisfied and delivered within the required timeframes.
- · Coordinate subcontract work and purchasing requirements to ensure materials and services are correct, complete, and on time.
- · Arrange transportation of goods with consideration for cost, load sizes, weights, and delivery requirements.
- · Support contract review, order acceptance, and review of commercial terms.
- · Purchase project, plant, building, machine, and maintenance services as required.
- · Attend and participate in networking opportunities and support broader departmental and organizational goals.
- · Support job file processing and project communication for fabrication, rolling, and service work.
- · Perform other duties as assigned.
- Requirements:
- · Degree or Diploma in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience.
- · Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience in custom steel fabrication or a related industrial manufacturing environment preferred.
- · Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- · Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- · Ability to work effectively in a team environment with production personnel, project management staff, suppliers, and customers.
- · Self-starter with the ability to work independently after receiving direction.
- · Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- · Intermediate to advanced computer skills including AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and project scheduling tools; SolidWorks and Microsoft Project are considered assets.
- · Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle to visit local company locations and customer sites as required.
- · Familiarity with Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) codes and welding environments preferred.
- · ISO and N299 experience/qualification considered an asset.

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
