We are currently seeking an experienced QA/QC Welding Inspector to join our team.
This position combines hands-on shop inspections with office-based quality documentation and coordination. The successful candidate will work closely with production, engineering, customers, and Authorized Inspectors to ensure our products meet customer specifications, applicable codes, and AXTON's quality standards from material receipt through final documentation.

Responsibilities
Perform in-process and final inspections throughout fabrication.
Verify compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
Inspect material, fit-up, welding, fabrication, and completed assemblies.
Review and verify quality documentation including WPS/PQRs, Material Test Reports (MTRs), NDE reports, and manufacturing records.
Prepare and maintain QA/QC records and manufacturing documentation.
Coordinate inspections with production personnel, engineering, customers, and Authorized Inspectors.
Support hydrostatic testing, dimensional inspections, NDE activities, and final product release.
Assist in preparing manufacturing data books and quality turnover documentation.
Work with production and engineering to identify, communicate, and resolve quality issues in a professional and timely manner.
Promote a culture of quality, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications
CWB Level 2 Welding Inspector or AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
Minimum two years of QA/QC inspection experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
Strong understanding of welding inspection, fabrication processes, and quality control practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable working with electronic quality documentation.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
Positive, professional attitude with the ability to work effectively with office staff, shop personnel, customers, and third-party inspectors.
Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with one or more of the following:
CGSB Level II or ASNT Level II certification in Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) or Magnetic Particle Testing (MT).
AMPP (formerly NACE) Coating Inspector certification.
Experience with ASME Section VIII, Section IX, NBIC, CSA B51, and pressure equipment fabrication.
Experience reviewing WPS/PQRs, MTRs, NDE reports, and manufacturing documentation.
Experience with pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pressure piping, or other heavy industrial fabrication.
