Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, standards, and customer specifications with precision and flair
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and seasonal specials to keep offerings fresh and exciting
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards at all times, ensuring a clean and organized workspace
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients efficiently
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality control
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service during busy hours, ensuring timely delivery of orders
- Practice excellent food handling techniques, including proper knife skills and hygiene protocols, to ensure safety and quality
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a culinary environment, preferably with fine dining or restaurant experience
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with meal preparation, cooking methods, and food industry standards
- Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward serving guests and supporting colleagues
