Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled DZ Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely maneuvering freight and equipment within our facility, ensuring efficient movement of goods between storage areas, loading docks, and transportation vehicles. This role requires a focus on safety, operational efficiency, and adherence to company policies. The Shunt Truck Driver plays a vital part in maintaining smooth warehouse operations and supporting overall supply chain functions.
Shift time- 2 pm to 11 pm (Afternoon)
Responsibilities
- Operate shunt trucks and other heavy equipment to move freight and materials within the warehouse or distribution center.
- Safely navigate through designated routes, including loading docks, storage areas, and parking zones
- Assist with the loading and unloading of freight using forklifts or other necessary equipment
- Conduct routine inspections of the shunt truck to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance issues
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to organize freight for shipment or storage
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic regulations within the facility to prevent accidents or injuries
- Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting on equipment as needed
- Maintain accurate records of freight movements and equipment usage
Qualifications
- Experience operating forklifts, freight handling equipment, and heavy machinery preferred
- Clean Driving Abstract and CVOR.
- Knowledge of automotive repair or troubleshooting skills is a plus
- Prior experience in commercial driving or warehouse logistics is desirable
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in a busy environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks as required
