DZ Truck Driver – Seasonal
Location: Oakwood, Ontario
Wage: $ 20.00 to $25.00 per hour
We are currently seeking a Seasonal DZ Truck Driver to join our Agronomy Operations team based in Oakwood, Ontario. This role offers strong potential for full-time employment and career mobility within Sunderland Co-op.
About the Role
As a DZ Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting agricultural products, fertilizer, and materials to customers and operational sites. This position plays a key role in ensuring timely deliveries, customer satisfaction, and safe, compliant operations.

Key Responsibilities

Transport finished goods and raw materials to retail, distribution, and farm locations

Deliver water and/or fertilizer to customer fields and farming operations

Operate vehicles safely during driving, loading, and unloading activities

Review daily run sheets and plan routes to ensure deadlines are met

Optimize delivery sequencing using maps and route planning
-
Maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions and park in designated areas
-
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, rest periods, mileage, and fuel/toll receipts

Prepare and secure customer orders, ensuring loads are protected from weather and road conditions

Obtain required receiver signatures upon delivery

Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding schedules and updates

Perform routine vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance reporting
-
Ensure all safety equipment, straps, and required documentation are in place
-
Maintain professionalism and represent Sunderland Co-op as a brand ambassador

Work extended hours during peak business periods

Comply with all health, safety, and legislative requirements

Report hazards, incidents, or equipment concerns immediately

Required Qualifications

Valid DZ driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract

Strong knowledge of roadways, traffic patterns, and route planning

Ability to adapt to changing traffic, weather, and field conditions

Strong communication and customer service skills

Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Ability to manually load/unload materials and secure loads

Willingness to work additional hours during peak seasons
Preferred Qualifications

Experience operating heavy equipment

Experience transporting agricultural products

Basic knowledge of agricultural products and crop inputs

Forklift certification

Farming background
