Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Server/Cashier to join our restaurant team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional guest service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a welcoming dining environment. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, operating POS systems, and ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are maintained. Prior restaurant or food industry experience is preferred but not required; a positive attitude and strong customer service skills are essential. The Server/Cashier will play a key role in delivering an outstanding dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive guest services throughout their visit
- Take customer orders accurately using POS systems such as Micros POS
- Process payments efficiently, handling cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment with proper cash handling procedures
- Serve food and beverages in a timely manner while maintaining presentation standards
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are followed during food handling and serving
- Assist with food preparation or kitchen duties as needed to support team operations
- Maintain cleanliness of dining area, workstations, and service stations according to sanitation guidelines
- Manage time effectively to serve multiple tables efficiently during busy periods
- Provide excellent guest services by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring guest satisfaction
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation practices, and food handling procedures
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours
- Restaurant or food industry experience is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is valued
- Knowledge of food preparation, serving techniques, and hospitality standards is advantageous
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest experience and sales performance
