We are currently looking for a hardworking, reliable, and detail-oriented Glass Replacement Helper to join our field crew and assist our Lead Technician on daily routes.
The Role
As a Glass Replacement Helper, you will be the right hand to our Lead Technician. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that field operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to learn a specialized skilled trade in the glazing and window replacement industry from experienced professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Installation Support: Assist the Lead Technician with the safe removal, handling, and installation of window glass, sealed units, and door glass.
- Material Handling: Safely load, secure, transport, and unload fragile glass units, heavy materials, tools, and pressure-washing equipment from company trucks.
- Site Preparation & Cleanup: Prepare active job sites to protect client property (laying drop cloths, moving furniture) and perform thorough post-job cleanups to ensure the space is left immaculate.
- Measurement & Prep: Assist with taking rough measurements for materials and prepping framing components prior to installation.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain the organization, inventory, and cleanliness of the service vehicle to ensure all required tools and hardware are ready for the daily route.
- Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all safety guidelines and best practices when handling glass and operating tools.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in construction, carpentry, exterior maintenance, or glazing is a strong asset, but we are willing to train the right highly motivated candidate.
- Physical Capability: Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver heavy and awkward materials (50+ lbs) throughout the day, and comfortable working on ladders or scaffolds.
- Tool Proficiency: Basic knowledge of and comfort using standard hand and power tools.
- Licensing: A valid Ontario driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Work Ethic: Punctual, reliable, and able to maintain a professional, respectful demeanor while working on clients' properties.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and adapting to a dynamic daily schedule.
