We are seeking a reliable and efficient and professional Courier/Delivery Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering goods and freight to various locations while ensuring timely and safe transportation. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on professionalism, customer service, safety, and punctuality.
This role requires a strong knowledge of North Bay proper, excellent driving skills and the ability to handle freight efficiently. The Courier Driver plays a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction through prompt and accurate deliveries, supporting the overall success of our operations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport freight, packages, or goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or heavy equipment when necessary.
- Follow daily delivery routes while also adjusting to incoming same day, on demand delivery requests throughout the day.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule, maintaining communication with dispatch.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with freight handling, including securing loads and verifying shipment contents.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws to ensure safe delivery operations.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and required daily documentation.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries.
Skills
- Valid G driver’s license required
- Must have a clean driving record without any at fault accidents or charges.
- Must be insurable and bondable.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety standards.
- Must be able to physically lift freight at times that is 50 pounds.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize deliveries.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatch and interacting with customers.
