Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (one hour unpaid lunch break)
Salary: $60,000 – $85,000 per year (based on experience)
Position Overview
A company is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator with experience in windows, doors, curtain wall, or glazing systems. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive estimates and supporting both sales and project management teams throughout the bidding process.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and tender documents
- Perform quantity take-offs for windows, doors, and curtain wall systems
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labour, accessories, and installation
- Analyze project scope, risks, and timelines
- Coordinate with suppliers for pricing (glass, aluminum, hardware)
- Collaborate with sales and project managers to refine proposals
- Assist with value engineering and alternative system recommendations
- Maintain organized records of estimates and bid documentation
- Follow up on submitted bids and track outcomes
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of experience in construction estimating (windows/doors/glazing preferred)
- Strong understanding of building envelope systems
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings
- Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills (English required; French is an asset)
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Terracotta, GFRC, porcelain & stone façade panels
- Bid strategy & tender submissions
- Estimating-to-project handover
- Architectural entrance systems (sliding, revolving, specialty doors)
- Specialty glazing (ballistic, X-ray, 3form, custom)
- Supplier & subcontractor coordination
- Curtain wall & window wall systems
- Canopies, soffits, pergolas & architectural metals
- Railings, handrails & windscreens
- Aluminum composite panels (ACM) & metal cladding
- Interior architectural glass & all-glass systems
- Drawing/specification interpretation
- Quantity take-offs & cost planning
