LJB Canada, Inc. is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time Senior Bridge Engineer role in Calgary, AB. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience on major infrastructure or transit projects and possess the professional and interpersonal skills to make a positive impact on our firm and the clients we serve. Salary Range: $110,000 - $175,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.

SENIOR-LEVEL STRUCTURAL BRIDGE ENGINEER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Leading a structural design team for a variety of multi-disciplinary projects.

Applying advanced engineering techniques and tools for solving complex engineering challenges.

Directing, coaching, supporting and guiding employees (engineers and technicians) assigned to projects.

Advising management and collaborating with other disciplines.

Preparing proposals and participating in business development including publications and conferences.

Preparing structural designs and evaluations and contract packages for ATEC, City of Calgary and other key clients including current policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and manuals.

Providing construction support and performing site visits as needed on active construction project.

Other duties as assigned.
SENIOR-LEVEL STRUCTURAL BRIDGE ENGINEER ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- Registered as Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with APEGA.

10+ years of experience in engineering practice in analysis and design of various types of bridge and transportation structures; railway structures is an asset.

Demonstrated experience working in a multi-disciplinary team delivering projects with variety of complexity, bridge type, size, and scope.

Experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC) and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) Code.

Proficient in SAP 2000, CSI Bridge, MIDAS and Microsoft Office applications.
