Key Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mill. The uranium milled at Key Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. The Role
As a member of the maintenance planning team, you will ensure maintenance activities are efficiently planned and scheduled to maximize equipment availability and workforce utilization. Working in a mining or industrial operation, you will apply maintenance planning best practices to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations. You will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by developing detailed work plans, supporting maintenance processes, and identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and job execution efficiency.
This is a six-month temporary position.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and maintain detailed maintenance work plans to support safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules to optimize equipment availability and workforce utilization.
- Review maintenance work requirements and identify resource, material, and tooling needs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance maintenance processes and equipment reliability.
- Monitor and interpret maintenance performance indicators to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to maintenance reports and recommendations that support operational and reliability objectives.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and support teams to ensure effective planning and execution of work.
- Support digital transformation initiatives and the effective use of maintenance management systems.
Required:
- industrial mechanic journeyperson trade certificate, mechanical technologist diploma, or equivalent;
- five or more years of relevant maintenance experience in an industrial environment;
- previous lead hand, planning, coordinating, and/or scheduling experience;
- experience using a computerized maintenance management system such as SAP;
- demonstrated ability to support team development and continuous improvement initiatives; and
- work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
- maintenance management professional (MMP) certification or equivalent;
- operational reliability training;
- Six Sigma training and practical application experience; and
- excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

The Key Lake operation is located in northern Saskatchewan and operates on a two week on/two week off rotational schedule. Employees commute to the site by aircraft from designated locations in Saskatchewan.
