Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Fiber Laser Operator specializing in sheet metal fabrication to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will operate and program CNC laser cutting machines, ensuring precise and efficient production of metal components. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and proficiency with various machining and fabrication tools. The CNC Fiber Laser Operator will play a vital part in maintaining high-quality standards and supporting the overall manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
- Operate and program CNC fiber laser cutting machines to produce accurate sheet metal parts according to blueprints and specifications
- Set up and calibrate equipment, including loading materials, adjusting settings, and performing routine maintenance
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to ensure proper fabrication
- Perform quality inspections using calipers, gauges, and other hand tools to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Utilize additional machinery such as plasma cutters, press brake machines, CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, and welding equipment as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Troubleshoot machine issues and perform basic repairs or adjustments to minimize downtime
- Assist with assembly processes when required, ensuring parts meet quality standards
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machines with knowledge of CNC programming principles
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes including plasma cutting, welding, pressing, machining, and assembly
- Mechanical knowledge of machinery such as press brakes, CNC lathes, mills, and related equipment
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings for precise fabrication
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during setup and inspection processes
- Experience handling hand tools, calipers, gauges, and performing quality inspections in a manufacturing environment
- Prior work experience in manufacturing or machining is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for specific equipment operations
