Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Cashier/Cook to join our team in a fast-paced food service environment. This role combines customer service with food preparation, requiring a versatile individual who can efficiently handle multiple responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry, excellent time management skills, and a strong commitment to food safety and sanitation standards. Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for accurate order processing and cash handling
- Greet customers warmly, take orders, and provide excellent customer service
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales
- Manage cash register transactions accurately, including handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas in compliance with food safety regulations
- Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
- Uphold high standards of sanitation, safety, and hygiene throughout all duties
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or food industry preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety standards
- Experience with POS systems, particularly Micros POS, is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order calculations
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Food safety certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire is preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 pounds
