Responsibilities
As a Concrete Finisher, you will:
- Place, level, and finish freshly poured concrete to required grades and specifications.
- Fill imperfections, remove surface defects, and ensure a high-quality finish.
- Operate power vibrators to consolidate concrete.
- Perform hand and machine trowel finishing, broom finishes, edging, and jointing.
- Apply curing compounds, sealers, and surface hardeners.
- Install anchor bolts, embedded plates, sleeves, and other fixtures.
- Repair, resurface, and restore damaged or deteriorated concrete.
- Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and site specifications.
- Work alongside form setters, labourers, equipment operators, and supervisors to complete projects efficiently.
- Inspect finished work to ensure it meets company quality standards.
- Safely operate and maintain tools and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite while following all company safety policies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 3 years of concrete finishing experience (preferred).
- Experience with residential, commercial, or municipal concrete construction.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Strong understanding of concrete placement, finishing, curing, and repair techniques.
- Experience operating construction equipment is considered an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, punctuality, and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
