Position Overview:
The Maintenance Technician at Bevmax is responsible for adhering to the preventative maintenance program for all equipment, as well as handling day-to-day breakdowns in the middle of production.
Position will start as 4 x 12-hour shifts Monday through Thursday
Key Responsibilities:
On-shift Maintenance Duties Include:
- Working with Air/Gas/Fluid equipment
- Navigating automation and controls with various pieces of equipment (HMI on canning line/case taper/lot code printer/carbonation equipment)
- Troubleshooting and repairs on electrical components
- Manage third party technicians and call in for repairs as required.
- Fixing issues that arise with various beverage manufacturing equipment throughout the day.
- Equipment list includes, but is not limited to: Forklifts, Canning Line, VFD Pumps, Pasteurizer, Boilers, Shrink Machine, Skid Wrapper, Pressure Sensitive Labeller, Shrink Sleeve Applicator, Cartoners, Conveyors
- Fixes on the equipment will include, but is not limited to: adjusting positioning/sensitivity of sensors, adjusting settings to optimize equipment performance, replacing parts using the equipment manuals
- Reporting Near-misses/incidents
- Completing all the monitoring records related with maintenance and calibration activities
- Break coverage for canning line operators and depal as needed
Preventative Maintenance Duties:
- Help develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program
- Manage all weekly, monthly, bi-annual, and annual PM duties
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience working with high speed industrial beverage/food-processing equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience troubleshooting electrical components
- Proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues
- General "handyman" skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with welding/fabrication considered an asset
- Experience with low-pressure boilers
- Ability to multitask
- Proactive approach to maintaining equipment
- Available to work Monday through Friday with occasional overtime and weekend work required
- Knowledge of food safety, GMPs and experience in BRC-certified facility considered an asset
- Strong preference for candidates with experience in the beverage industry
