Full-Time/Part Time Position Overview
Our Client, Alldoor Access, is seeking an Automatic Door Installer / Technician to install, service, and troubleshoot automatic door operators, sensors, and accessibility equipment. This role requires experience with low-voltage wiring, electronics, and electromechanical systems. While direct automatic door experience is an asset, candidates from related technical trades are strongly encouraged to apply.

This is a specialized, niche role suited for someone with a strong mechanical and electronics background who enjoys hands-on technical work and problem-solving in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Install automatic door operators, handicap access equipment, sensors, push plates, and control systems
- Perform low-voltage wiring, testing, calibration, and troubleshooting
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues
- Conduct preventative maintenance and safety inspections
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer manuals
- Ensure installations meet building codes, accessibility standards, and safety regulations
- Complete service reports, documentation, and work orders
- Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, and internal team members
- Work independently or as part of a small installation team
Required Skills & Experience
- MUST HAVE Experience with automatic doors, access control, or door hardware
- Experience with electronics and low-voltage wiring
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Comfort using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical documentation
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to travel
- Physically capable of lifting equipment and working on ladders or lifts
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Assets (Not Required but Strongly Valued)
- Background in related fields such as:
- Access control / security systems
- Low-voltage technician
- Elevator and gate
- Commercial glass and glazing service/install
