Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Project Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, supporting project planning, and ensuring competitive pricing. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent client relationship skills, and proficiency with industry-standard estimating tools. The Construction Project Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to deliver precise estimates that align with project scope and budget.
Duties
- Develop comprehensive construction cost estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and other bid documents.
- Visit client sites to gather required data and images.
- Collaborate with project management teams to review project scope and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Assist in the preparation of bid packages, proposals, and contract documents.
- Monitor market trends and material costs to maintain up-to-date pricing strategies.
- Support project management during the bidding process by providing technical insights and risk assessments.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field within the construction industry.
- Experience with pricing small to medium residential projects including various renovations and repairs.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and labor costs.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms from vendors and subcontractors.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.
