We provide excavating, grading, and hauling for various projects throughout British Columbia and Alberta.
We are seeking a Grademan -Topman to join our team. The shift is 10/4, must have own vehicle, and current project is located near Grand Prairie, Alberta.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Ability to shoot grades, establish grades keeping pipelayer on grade, building roads, slab prep
Ability to read blueprints
Read and interpret grade stakes to grade or redistribute earth.
Achieve the correct grade by directing equipment operators to adjust grade by moving earth gravel and other material.
Assist with the maintenance and preventative maintenance of equipment.
Comply with Option Excavating Inc. safety regulations, policies and procedures.
Work may include demolishing and reclamation of contaminated sites, removing underground storage tanks, and building trenches and walls.
Working knowledge of Base, grades and granular-related materials
Working knowledge of methods, techniques and equipment required for Base and Sub-Base surfaces
Must be able to provide own form of transportation to the job site.
Work in a team environment with attention to safety and productivity
Conducts daily Job Hazard Awareness meetings, daily stretching, and weekly Toolbox topics
Complete daily record keeping, including daily logs, equipment hours, material schedules, and timecards
Carry out minor maintenance and inspection of equipment.
Follow marks on grade stakes or hand signals.
Keeps supervisor informed of known actions, written or verbal, which may affect the ability to perform assignments or adversely affect company operations successfully
Follow instructions and collaborate with others to complete tasks.
Perform other related duties as required.
Understand the issues involving ground disturbance
Ability to work in and implement safe work practices and contribute to a safe work environment.
Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program and encourage all employees, subcontractors, and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Position Requirements & Skills

Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Construction and excavation: 5 years (preferred)
Must have CSTS2020 and Ground disturbance level 2 certificate
Hard working, positive attitude & willingness to learn.
Desire to complete tasks on time
Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
Ability to operate required equipment safely and responsibly.
Time management skills.
Ability to read specifications, blueprints, and as-builds.
Can adapt to changing circumstances.
