Summary
We are seeking a skilled Pipe Layer to join our team in Canada. This role is vital in ensuring the successful installation of underground piping systems that support our civil construction projects in the local area. Based in Canada, this position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful infrastructure development.
Key Responsibilities
Install underground utilities to design grades and MMCD municipal supplemental drawings., including storm,water, and sewer mains and services.
Ensure all materials are properly bedded and installed according to specifications
Assist excavator operators with trenching, roadway widening, and achieving design elevations
Operate compaction equipment for aggregate placement.
Coordinate daily tasks and layouts with supervisors and crew members
Dig trenches to required depths by hand or using trenching and hand tools, work with excavator to dig aroundand expose utilities
Grade, level, and prepare trench bases using tamping machines and hand tools
Maintain proper housekeeping of job sites, tools and equipment
Identify and report installation conflicts or site issues to the supervisor immediately
Assist with additional hands-on civil construction tasks as required
Knowledge and use of shoring, air shores, trench cages, manhole cages.
Knowledge and understanding of all WCB/Safety requirements
Required Knowledge and Skills
- 3-5 years of experience as a general labourer in civil construction or underground utilities
- Proven experience with pipelaying or underground service installation
- Works well/communicating with others and training less experiences individuals
- Experience with compaction equipment and common construction hand tools
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean, current driver's abstract (preferred)
- Strong understanding of safe work practices and job site safety requirements
- Physically capable of performing demanding manual labour in outdoor environments
Pay: $30.00-$42.50 per hour
