On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for an Analyst, IT Planning & Project Portfolio Management for a 12-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Toronto, Ontario office.
Analyst, IT Planning & Project Portfolio Management - Job Description:
The Analyst, IT Planning & Project Portfolio Management plays a critical role in project intake, planning, resource management, and operational excellence across the organization. The role supports technology leaders in investment planning, portfolio prioritization, financial management, and organizational performance reporting.
Analyst, IT Planning & Project Portfolio Management - Responsibilities:
- Manage project intake and demand management processes for the Data & Analytics (D&A) portfolio.
- Evaluate project requests and support investment decision-making.
- Provide recommendations to D&A leadership for portfolio adjustments.
- Support quarterly planning processes and PI Planning meetings.
- Manage resource planning and allocation to optimize utilization.
- Support annual budget planning and monitor project costs.
- Maintain portfolio management tools and ensure data accuracy.
- Build strong partnerships across D&A and with business leaders.
Analyst, IT Planning & Project Portfolio Management - Mandatory Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in portfolio management, PMO, technology planning, IT business management, or financial management.
- Experience with portfolio management and planning tools such as Planview, Jira, Asana, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of portfolio management, demand management, and resource planning practices.
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and business case development.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and executive presentation skills.
Analyst, IT Planning & Project Portfolio Management – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Previous experience working with data and analytics or technical teams.
- Experience with relevant software including Planview, JIRA, Confluence, MS Project.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Visio, Mural, Lucid).
