GENERAL SUMMARY:
As Moxy’s go-to Maintenance Technician, you’ll ensure everything from guest rooms to public areas stay fully operational and safe while keeping the vibe lively and seamless. You work with the whole team to fix, maintain, and improve the hotel’s systems with reliability and style, contributing to the unique Moxy experience that guests love.
WHO YOU ARE:
Experience:
- 2-3 years in general maintenance or facilities management
- Hotel experience is a bonus
- Required experience in maintaining commercial pools and spas, including water chemistry, filtration systems, and safety compliance
- Required-valid Ontario driver’s licence
- Skilled in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and mechanical systems
- Comfortable using hand and power tools safely
- Troubleshooting and quick problem solving are your strengths
Preferred:
- Willing to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and evenings
- Familiarity with Marriott GXP
- Bilingual (English/French) an asset
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) preferred
- Excellent communication and guest-focused attitude
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in varying conditions (including outdoor environments) and stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Lift up to 50 lbs regularly and push/pull carts and equipment up to 250 lbs.
- Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, squatting, and stretching.
- Use manual dexterity to operate necessary equipment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Keep it Running:
- Conduct daily maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, and mechanical spaces
- Perform preventative upkeep on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems
- Inspect equipment regularly to prevent downtime and extend lifespan.
Fix it Fast:
- Respond swiftly to guest maintenance requests and urgent issues
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions to maintain comfort and safety
Support & Improve:
- Collaborate with housekeeping, front desk, and management on operations and guest needs
- Assist with renovation projects and system upgrades, keeping disruptions minimal
- Manage inventory of tools and supplies to stay ready for any task
Safety First:
- Follow all safety protocols to protect guests, crew and property
- Maintain fire and safety systems to ensure compliance and readiness
