Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Architectural Drawings Lead (full-time, permanent) who will lead the creation and preparation of residential drawing packages, including the development of new residential home models, elevations, and plan sets. This role also involves preparing design sketches for clients as required.
The Architectural Drawings Lead will work closely with internal teams and management to ensure designs are aligned with approved plot plans, specifications and grade requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong proficiency in design and engineering software, along with the confidence to engage and professionally interact with internal departments, stakeholders, design professionals and consultants to lead and execute project initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create, design and execute detailed drawing packages for various projects aligned with specifications and applicable codes as per concepts, sketches, specifications and sales data
- Read and interpret drawings and blueprints and ensure all designs meet client requirements and specifications for residential construction
- Lead the preparation and maintenance of residential working drawings and master plans for new and existing home models
- Create, maintain and update existing design models to reflect specification changes, corrections, revisions and omissions
- Modify master plans into job-specific production drawings in accordance with purchase agreements and required timelines
- Identify and modify specific needs on new and existing designs to meet applicable Alberta Building Code and municipal requirements
- Develop, maintain and update drafting standards, drawing libraries, and version control across projects as per ART guidelines
- Maintain organized drawing records and version control across all active projects
- Work closely with internal departments and teams to communicate drawing updates, resolve issues, and provide real-time technical support for timely project delivery
- Lead and engage internal and external stakeholder communications
- Participate in professional development courses and stay up to date with industry trends, construction technology, and building codes
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
- A minimum of two (2) years of residential drafting experience, is required
- Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Design, or a related field, is required.
- Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD, is required
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, is required
- Experience leading or mentoring colleagues or teams, an asset
- Strong understanding of Alberta Building Code and local municipal requirements, an asset
- Experience in multi family projects, an asset
- Able to efficiently communicate with all internal and external stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail with a prompt follow-up process
