Reporting to the Clinical Manager, Addiction and Mental Health Helpline at Health Link, the Clinical Supervisor plays a key leadership role in ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, high-quality, and patient-centered services. Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Clinical Supervisor provides real-time clinical consultation, guidance, and support to frontline staff, assisting with complex clinical decision-making, risk assessment, problem-solving, and shift debriefing. The successful candidate will foster a culture of excellence by supporting staff development, promoting evidence-informed practice, and enhancing service quality. Responsibilities include leading and facilitating educational initiatives, conducting call reviews, providing clinical coaching, and supporting continuous quality improvement activities. In addition to clinical leadership responsibilities, the Clinical Supervisor oversees day-to-day operational issues, including staffing coordination, workflow management, technology troubleshooting, and business process improvements to ensure seamless service delivery. As a Clinical Supervisor, you will provide clinical supervision for a discipline, practice area or service sector supporting clinicians to provide excellence in professional practice and enable quality, patient and family-centered care. In this clinical leadership role, you will provide clinical supervision to staff providing addiction and/or mental health services to individuals, families, and groups. This role involves supervision related to a range of assessment, mental health (psychosocial and psychological interventions), and other activities. You will be required to supervise regulated staff requiring supervision to meet the regulatory requirements for practice, and/or to unregulated staff providing the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention. This may include observing clinical sessions, reviewing clinical documentation and written reports, conducting team case consultations and offering support, and providing guidance and direction to clinical staff with challenging and urgent cases in a timely manner. In your role, you may work with members of the interdisciplinary team, psychiatrists and community partners in support of effective professional and collaborative practice. You may contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of mental health treatment services in a hospital setting or community. You may also identify and address gaps in clinical practice as well as facilitate addressing of system level gaps and risk management issues. You may provide support to leadership in the hiring, orientation and performance evaluation of clinical staff.

Required Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Psychology or Social Work. Active or eligible for full registration (not provisional) with College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) or the Alberta College of Social Work (ACSW). A minimum of 5 years' experience in providing mental health assessment and intervention, including restricted activity of psychosocial intervention.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or related regulated health profession. Registration in good standing with the applicable regulatory body. Minimum 5 years’ experience as an addiction and/or mental health therapist/counsellor. 1–3 years in formal clinical supervision role. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Strong competency in concurrent-capable addiction and mental health practice. Demonstrated leadership, adult education, coaching, and team development skills. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities. Advanced crisis intervention, assessment, and brief intervention skills across all age groups. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 and experience with Genesys, Connect Care, and other electronic clinical platforms. Proven ability to flexibly adapt to and manage competing priorities, deadlines, and multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a collaborative approach to working with callers, staff, and leadership. Commitment to fostering a positive, team-oriented work environment. Knowledge of Alberta’s addiction and mental health service continuum, including community-based supports and social determinants of health resources.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous contact centre experience is an asset. Previous experience providing crisis focused services. Demonstrated adaptability in fast paced, highly technology dependent, process-oriented environments Strong patient-centered care and customer service orientation.
