Construction Manager
Location: Office & Project Sites
Salary: $90,000 to 110,000 annually
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the full lifecycle of construction projects across multiple programs, including Clearblue, Eastlink, Rogers BAU (R4B), and other assigned initiatives. This role is responsible for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with carrier standards and quality expectations.
The successful candidate will bring strong field experience and technical knowledge to support construction execution, pre-construction planning, estimating, and cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage construction projects from initiation through closeout.
- Develop and maintain construction schedules, resource plans, and work sequencing.
- Supervise general contractors, field crews, and subcontractors to ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence.
- Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, and client standards.
- Conduct site inspections at key milestones to monitor progress, quality, and compliance.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and COR requirements.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and carrier standards.
- Act as the primary liaison between construction, project management, engineering, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide daily and weekly progress updates, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Support cost estimating, quantity take-offs, and bid preparation for upcoming projects.
- Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to source, evaluate, and negotiate pricing and scope.
- Support pre-construction planning, constructability reviews, and scheduling.
- Maintain cost data, pricing records, and vendor information to support forecasting and budgeting.
- Attend required meetings and actively contribute to project coordination and execution.
Staff Leadership & Management
- Provide day-to-day leadership for construction staff and field personnel.
- Monitor performance, attendance, work quality, and policy compliance.
- Address and document performance concerns as required.
- Conduct performance reviews and support employee development.
- Foster a team culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of field and supervisory staff.
Training & Development
- Mandatory management and technical training will be provided (in-person and/or online).
- Additional training may be assigned as part of ongoing professional development.
- All training costs are covered by the employer.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience managing large-scale construction or utility infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, cost control, and contractor management.
- Experience working within carrier environments (telecom or utility preferred).
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and COR requirements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel regularly to multiple project sites.
