Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Support Workers to provide essential in-home care and assistance to clients of all ages. This role is vital in helping individuals maintain independence, improve quality of life, and receive personalized support tailored to their needs. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration as prescribed and monitor health status
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary needs
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organization to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
- Support clients with mobility challenges through safe transfer techniques and heavy lifting when necessary
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Document care provided, observe changes in condition, and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare professionals
- Assist with specialized care for individuals with dementia, disabilities, or recovering from illness or surgery
- Follow all safety protocols and adhere to healthcare regulations to ensure client safety at all times
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospice care, or home care is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care techniques, dementia care, senior care, or working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
- Strong caregiving skills with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities
- Experience with medication administration and meal preparation is desirable
- Certification in caregiving or related fields is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to work independently while following established care plans
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
