Licensed Practical Nurse - PRINCE GEORGE, BC
WE ARE LOOKING FOR A FULL TIME LPN TO WORK IN PRINCE GEORGE, BC!
First Line - Vacant Line - 8 hour shifts - 0630-1430 and 0900-1700. Rotation is based on operational needs. Contract length to start ASAP until November 30th, 2026 or January 15th, 2027.
Second Line - Vacance Line - 12 hour DAY/NIGHT Line - 0630-1830 and 1830-0630. Contract length to start ASAP until November 30th, 2026 or January 15th, 2027.
The rotations will be based on operational needs, and as always, may change on short notice.
Applicants should be prepared to work either shift at any time. Please note there are cats all around the care home, therefore we will not accept any applicant with cat allergies. Must have experience in long-term care facilities.
SHARED ACCOMODATION PROVIDED
Must have a BCCNM license in order to qualify for the casual position.
THE RATE FOR THIS POSITION IS $40-$45 PER HOUR.
THE LINES START ASAP. THIS IS A FULL TIME CONTRACT.
The LPN will have 1 year or more in LTC. The LPN will have the following qualifications for the role:
· LPN Registry Number with BCCNM
· Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
· Graduation from a recognized program.
· Diploma or other educational certification for additional training.
· First Aid & CPR Certificate (Must be valid)
· N95 Fit Test (Yearly)
· Covid-19 immunizations
· Immunization Record - (Flu Shot, TB, MMR, Polio, Hep A/B, tetanus, etc.)
The role of the LPN will be to perform routine procedures, assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, evaluate care in alignment with the LPN scope of practice as outlined in the BCCNM scope of practice document, and practice based on BCCNM Professional Standards and Practice Standards.
The LPN will provide the following duties, but not limited to:
· LPN will care for patients who have predictable outcome. LPN will report to charge nurse or DOC at LTC site.
· Provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice as outlined in BCCNM LPN Scope of Practice document, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures
· Perform nursing interventions such as taking vital signs, applying aseptic techniques including sterile dressing, ensuring infection control, monitoring nutritional intake and conducting specimen collection.
· Administer medication and observe and document therapeutic effects
· Monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy
· Monitor patients' progress, evaluate and document effectiveness of nursing interventions and collaborate with appropriate members of health care team
· Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families.
· Document in alignment with BCCNM Standards of Practice documents and will use various methods of documentation
· May delegate tasks to health care assistances and supervise their practice.
