Reactor Entry Technician
Position Summary:
The Reactor Entry Technician is responsible for performing specialized work within petrochemical plants and refineries, including entry into confined spaces under inert atmospheric conditions. This role involves accessing single- and multi-bed reactors and other enclosed vessels, often in environments where oxygen deficiency may be present. The position requires strict adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work in challenging industrial conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel frequently to client sites across Canada
- Safely perform work within a variety of confined spaces
- Load and unload tubular vessels and related equipment
- Properly use breathing air apparatuses and air-purifying respirators as required
- Perform tasks at heights, including climbing ladders and working on elevated structures
- Adhere to all company policies and regulatory requirements, including drug and alcohol compliance for safety-sensitive work environments
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry is considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience using breathing air apparatuses and air-purifying respirators preferred
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to established procedures
