OVERVIEW
The Ink Technician is responsible for preparing, mixing, and maintaining inks to meet production and quality requirements. This role ensures accurate color matching, proper viscosity, and consistency of inks used in printing. The Ink Technician works closely with press operators and quality teams to support efficient production, monitors ink inventory, and follows all safety and handling procedures to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age due to the nature of the manufacturing environment, chemical/ink handling, equipment use, and workplace safety requirements.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Formulate and blend inks as required to meet job specifications.
- Maintain inventory control standards and ensure adequate stock of inks and related materials.
- Organize inks in preparation for scheduled press runs.
- Return unused inks from the press to the appropriate storage area.
- Perform press-side color matching to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Follow all safety protocols and proper handling procedures when working with inks and related chemicals.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION
- Highschool Diploma or Equivalent
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Experience working with solvent-based inks preferred.
- Knowledge of the X-Rite Colour Management Program an asset.
- Strong color matching skills and knowledge of ink properties preferred.
- Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated initiative in problem-solving and troubleshooting.
WORKING CONDITIONS
It may require standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motions. Safety guidelines must be followed to ensure a safe work environment.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
