As an Occupational Therapist, you will assist residents to maximize their abilities to participate to the fullest of their potential in activities that are meaningful to them with a focus on quality of life. What you will bring:
- Ensure the practice of Occupational Therapy is conducted in accordance with the Code of Ethics as stipulated by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, and all provincial regulatory bodies.
- Encourage resident engagement in identified therapeutic programs, to meet their specified goals.
- Understand and comply with the legal requirements of licensure, legislation, scope of practice, and policies and procedures of the company.
- Excellent communication and listening skills to be able to deliver services to a diverse resident population including those with varying degrees of cognitive impairment.
· Advocate for the residents’ rights and wishes.
- Provide individualized assessment and intervention as well as program planning/implementation, policy development, consultation, and education as part of an interdisciplinary team.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Proof of registration with The Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT) in good standing
- Current certification in CPR for the duration of employment.
- Experience in program development and consultation at the individual level.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a senior care home. Other healthcare settings will be considered.
- Bilingualism is an asset.
- ADP (Assistive Devices Program) authorization status required.
· Tuberculosis testing within the last two years; Steps 1 & 2; or an X-Ray from the previous five years showing a clear result.
· Able to provide a complete and current (six months new) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.
· Proof of current immunizations according to Plan A policy.
This position is one day a week with flexible scheduling.

Pay: $50.00 per hour
