Hensall Global is seeking a Shop Foreperson to join our team at our full-service truck and trailer facility in Exeter, Ontario. We maintain and repair all makes and models of trucks and trailers.

Position Overview:
The Shop Foreperson oversees daily shop operations while actively performing maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, and equipment. This role provides day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to technicians and apprentices on the shop floor. The Shop Foreperson helps coordinate workflow and ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This position is ideal for an experienced 310T Technician who enjoys mentoring others and taking a leadership role while remaining actively involved in diagnostics and repairs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily workflow, priorities, and shop activities
- Assign and prioritize work for technicians and apprentices
- Lead by example as a working technician, contributing to daily repair work
- Remain approachable and available to support team members
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and technical training to technicians and apprentices
- Serve as a key technical resource for diagnostics, troubleshooting, and complex repairs
- Monitor quality of work and ensure repairs meet company, safety, and regulatory standards
- Ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Complete accurate work orders and communicate parts requirements to the Parts Purchaser
- Identify opportunities to improve shop efficiency, processes, and team performance
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and safety-focused work environment
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained, inspected, and serviced
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician Licence
- 310S Automotive Technician Licence considered an asset
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a licensed 310T Technician
- Previous leadership, lead hand, or supervisory experience in a shop environment
- Excellent understanding of trade practices, tools, and shop processes
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and team development skills
- Advanced diagnostic, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with diagnostic software and computer systems, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Valid G Driver’s Licence required
- Valid AZ or DZ Licence, or willingness to obtain
