General Labourer / Property Helper — Full-time
Data Pharms Inc., operating under HomeShare, is hiring three dependable full-time general helpers in Thunder Bay. This is a varied, hands-on role for people willing to help with different unskilled tasks: house and unit cleaning, moving items, organizing storage, basic outdoor cleanup, supply pickups, job preparation and other practical property support. This is not limited to construction work; tasks will change depending on what needs doing.
This is an entry-level labour position. You do not need to be a licensed trade or an experienced maintenance worker. We are looking for someone who arrives reliably, works safely, follows instructions and can think through ordinary practical problems without needing every small step explained.
The main responsibilities include:
- Helping with general unskilled tasks across properties, including organizing storage, moving miscellaneous items, basic yard cleanup and approved supply pickups or disposal runs.
- Cleaning houses and residential units, including kitchens, bathrooms, floors, surfaces, appliances and common areas as assigned.
- Completing move-out, turnover and general residential cleaning so units are clean and ready for use.
- Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting and removing ordinary waste; following cleaning-product instructions and reporting hazards rather than handling unsafe materials without direction.
- Preparing job sites before renovation or repair work begins and clearing work areas so trades and maintenance staff can work efficiently.
- Moving furniture, materials, tools, supplies and miscellaneous items between units, vehicles and storage areas.
- Loading, unloading, sorting and organizing renovation materials and supplies.
- Keeping job sites clean, organized and free of unnecessary clutter or hazards.
- Scraping, sanding and preparing surfaces and work areas for painting, flooring and other renovation tasks.
- Cleaning up during and after jobs, gathering debris and helping with disposal runs.
- Assisting with light demolition and other basic non-licensed work under direction.
- Helping skilled workers by bringing materials, organizing tools and keeping the work area ready.
- Taking progress photos and confirming when assigned work has been completed.
- Noticing obvious problems, missing materials or unsafe conditions and reporting them promptly.
What we are looking for:
- Availability for full-time work, reliable attendance and the ability to arrive on time.
- A reliable vehicle to travel between properties and job sites throughout Thunder Bay. This is mandatory.
- A smartphone for receiving job details, photos and basic instructions.
- Decent critical-thinking and practical problem-solving ability.
- Ability to organize work, prioritize simple tasks and use common sense when circumstances change.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully while recognizing when something is unclear or unsafe.
- Willingness to ask questions instead of guessing when a decision could affect safety or work quality.
- Ability to work respectfully in occupied and vacant residential units and take care around belongings.
- Willingness to take on a varied mix of cleaning, moving, organizing and other unskilled tasks—not only construction work. Comfort with hands-on cleaning and physical work, moving ordinary renovation materials and being on your feet throughout the day.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to work well around trades, contractors and other staff.
No personal tools are required. Previous construction, renovation, warehouse, moving, house cleaning or general labour experience is helpful, but reliability, judgment and work ethic are more important.
