Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will support our dental team in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the office. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with both patients and staff. Looking for a candidate to fill every other Friday and Saturday 9-2. Additional hours potentially available.
Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and materials.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Abeldent.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow to optimize office efficiency.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness in the treatment area.
- Support pediatric procedures as required.
- Handle administrative tasks, including billing and insurance verification, when necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental practice.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Proficiency in using dental software applications such as Abeldent and Trios is preferred.
- Experience in pediatrics is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant qualifications is mandatory.
