Overview
Coco Bay Restaurant is seeking a creative and motivated Marketing Intern to support our digital marketing, community engagement, and promotional initiatives. This position is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in social media marketing, content creation, local business partnerships, and event promotion within the hospitality industry.
This is a full-time internship position based in Thunder Bay, Ontario
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage monthly social media content plans aligned with business goals and seasonal campaigns
- Create and publish digital content including photos, videos, graphics, and captions across social media platforms
- Organize and maintain a structured media library for future marketing use
- Support planning and promotion of annual events, including digital advertising and content campaigns
- Monitor and assist with Google Ads and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) advertising performance
- Update and maintain website content, promotions, and event information
- Liaise with local newspapers or magazines regarding potential print advertising opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses for cross-promotions and community events
- Track marketing analytics and prepare basic performance reports to evaluate campaign effectiveness
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong interest in marketing, social media, and digital content creation
- Familiarity with platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Google Business Profile
- Basic knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar design/video editing tools is an asset
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Photography, videography, or graphic design experience is considered an asset
