Job Title: Naval Architect, Structural Engineer, PENG
Department: Naval Architect
Responsibilities
· Assist with the design and development of marine and port structures.
· Support senior engineers through all project phases — concept, preliminary, and detailed design.
· Prepare technical deliverables such as drawings, design calculations, reports, and specifications.
· Participate in site inspections, condition assessments, and construction support activities.
· Collaborate with engineers, drafters, and other disciplines to deliver coordinated project outputs.
· Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders under the guidance of senior staff.
· Contribute to proposal preparation, cost estimates, and other project documentation as required.
· Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
· Occasional travel to project sites may be required.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
· Ideally 2–5 years of relevant experience in the design or assessment of marine, coastal, or port infrastructure.
· Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration
· Familiarity with the MS Office environment, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Understanding of applicable design codes and standards.
· Some exposure to construction or site work in marine environments would be an asset.
· Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· Effective written and verbal communication, with attention to detail.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
· Organized, proactive, and eager to learn from senior engineers.
· Interest in developing long-term expertise in marine and port engineering
· Knowledge of Instrumentation and Controls design using standard software is an advantage.
· Knowledge of Classification society rules, codes, and standards, and international marine rules and regulations; Marine detail design experience considered an advantage.
